Two More Things from AHM June 21^st

In the fall, staggered entry will be the same as last year. School begins after Labour Day weekend. On Tuesday September 3^rd half of each homeroom class will attend and then on Wednesday September 4^th the other half will come to school. All students will return on Thursday and Friday of that week. The students first day being a smaller class size allows for a smoother transition and more 1 on 1 time for the teacher to learn new routines and procedures. Yesterday we told you the week of August 26^th you would be contacted by your child’s homeroom teacher regarding the first day of school. We now have more information and have made a change. You will receive a piece of mail by the end of next week (Don’t want to go into too much detail, it is a surprise) that indicates your child’s start date and some other fun information.  This will allow you to plan for your work schedule, daycare schedule two months in advance.

This is what the first week will look like:

Your child will attend Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (3^rd, 5^th, and 6^th)

Or Your child will attend Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (4^th, 5^th, and 6^th) This means all students attend 3 of the 4 possible school days the first week of school.

The second will be a full week as usual.

We are also looking for feedback on the hot lunch program this year at AHM. Current and incoming administration, as well as staff from the Anglophone East School District are working hard to find sponsors to allow it to be the same subsidized hot lunch program facilitated by Chartwells, family donors and the school district.
