Here are the school updates for the week of May 26h:  

Family Bingo Night 

LAST CALL for forms & payment to book your spot! We hope you will join us for AHM’s Chocolate Bar Bingo Night this Thursday, May 29th at 6:00pm! This is a family event to help us raise money for AHM’s Fuel the Fun Campaign to replace our current playground. You must confirm how many family members will be in attendance and children must remain with their parents at all times. We will NOT be rolling out the blue mats as we do for the Christmas concert and Night of the Arts, so it is very important for everyone to REMOVE OUTDOOR SHOES before entering the gym. Each family will receive 4 booklets with 5 bingo cards in each booklet. Additional bingo cards can be purchase at the event for $5 (cash only) to increase your chances of winning the ultimate chocolate bar prize! There will also be a bake sale, canteen, as well as a prize wheel which will only be accepting cash only. Doors open at 6pm and bingo will begin at 6:30pm.

Jump Rope for Heart  

AHM will be participating in our annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraising event. The school benefits by receiving 10% of all money raised. We appreciate your support for this worthwhile fundraiser.  The fundraiser will be ongoing until May 28th. We will be holding a special presentation in June to announce the winners. Winning students will have the opportunity to pie a staff member in the face! 

Red Shirt Day

Wednesday, May 28th is National Red Shirt Day for those wishing to show their support for persons and families who are living with disabilities. By wearing a red shirt, we are showing our support in promoting accessibility and inclusion in our community. #RedShirtDay #RedforAccessAbility 

Field Trips

It is now field trip season. Please ensure that your child is dressed for the weather. It is also a good idea to bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray. Please also return your child’s permission slip as soon as possible so that there is no delay or scrambling the day of the trip. Also, the District is limited on busses available for field trips so this may affect the date that it is scheduled however, we truly hope that they won’t be affected and all can proceed as scheduled. 

Professional Learning Day

Friday, June 6th will be a professional learning day for teachers and there is no school for students.
