Good afternoon caregivers of Arnold H. McLeod School,

This is the weekly voicemail message for Thursday May 2nd:

Please note that there will be no school tomorrow, Friday May 3rd, due to teacher professional learning.

There will also be no school on Friday May 17th due to teacher professional learning and Monday May 20th due to the holiday weekend.

Next week we are excited to host our very first Black History Tech Fair on Wednesday May 8th.  Classes will be demonstrating their learning with an exciting combo of technology and Black History.  We look forward to seeing all of the projects.

We will also begin our Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser next week.  A special assembly will be held on Thursday May 9th and envelopes will be sent home that day.  Please do not allow your children to go door to door to collect money. The school benefits by receiving 10% of all money raised.  We appreciate your support for this worthwhile fundraiser and remember that fundraising is optional.

Arnold H. McLeod will be hosting its 13th annual Night of the Arts celebration on Thursday May 16th from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm.  The theme of this year’s event is “Our Favorites featuring music from The Beatles”. In lieu of admission to the Night of the Arts we are asking for a donation to the AHM Breakfast Program.  Items such as cereal bars, jam, and Cheez Whiz would be very much appreciated.  You will also have the opportunity to purchase any piece of art on display with a donation of your choice to the AHM Arts Fund.  The Home and School will also be selling baked goods before and after the show.  We hope to see you there.

Grade 4 and 5 students begin their Provincial Assessments on Monday May 13th.  The assessments continue until Tuesday May 28th. Please check your child’s backpack for hands-on practice information.  All students will complete the assessments online.

That’s all for this week.  Thanks for reading.  Have a great weekend.
