Good afternoon caregivers of Arnold H. McLeod School,

This is the weekly message for Friday March 15^th:

We have heard from some parents regarding concerns of the students playing on the field. Unfortunately, we have no other choice for areas to play.  The students are outside twice/day for recess and an additional four times/week currently for Phys Ed while our gym floor is being replaced.  The gym floor will not be ready for classes until mid-April so outside it is!  We understand that this is causing extra work at home, but the students also need to be responsible for their choices during this time outside.  There are plenty of play areas that do not have mud or water on them. It is always a good idea to have spare socks and clothing at school. Please discuss good decision making regarding play areas with your child.

Please note that there will be no school on Monday March 25^th due to staff professional learning. There will also be no school on Friday March 29^th and Monday April 1^st due to the Easter holiday weekend.

Our Service Project for the month of March will be to create a granola bar domino run. Please help us support the Food Depot Alimentaire by sending in full boxes of granola or cereal bars for this great cause.  We request only normal size boxes as the family size or larger size don’t work well in the run. Your donations need to be into the school by Friday March 22^nd. Many clubs and groups have begun in preparation for Night of the Arts. Students must be responsible and remember to show up and keep their club commitments.  AHM is excited to show families our new gym floor, our new performance risers and our updated stage area.

Our next pre-Kindergarten event will be on Thursday April 11^th. It will be from 3:45-5:00 pm.  We will begin in the gym and then divide into 4 groups. At this time, we have approximately 52 students registered to begin in Kindergarten in the fall.
