Good afternoon caregivers of Arnold H. McLeod School,

This past week the students completed our community clean-up to celebrate Earth Day for our April service project. Students worked hard and picked up garbage around the school grounds. We encourage them to clean-up their neighbourhood community as well.

We have also been participating in a Respect and Responsibility Boot Camp in which students have been introduced to a new politeness police character as part of our LEARN expectations: Patient Panda. If you could speak with your child about being respectful and patient at school whether in the hallways, on the playground or with their classmates and teachers, that would be greatly appreciated.

Our annual Night of the Arts will take place on Thursday, May 1st from 6:00-8:00pm. Admission is a contribution to our breakfast program (non-sugary cereals, breakfast bars, peanut free condiments, spoons, etc.) For a donation of your choosing, you can get tickets to buy your child’s art. Students will be bringing home a sheet to say which art pieces they will have displayed. Performances will be in the gym from 6:30-7:30. Performers are asked to arrive at 6:00 and go to their designated classrooms. The Home and School will also be offering a Bake Sale during the event.

A reminder that there is no school on Friday May 2nd due to the NBTA Subject Council Day.

Also, we have had parents reach out saying they want to volunteer for some of our year end field trips which is fantastic! A reminder that there is a volunteer process in which parents must follow. More information can be found on the Anglophone School District East: https://asdeast.nbed.ca/volunteer-in-a-school/

That’s all for now.  Thanks for reading.  Have a great weekend.
