Hello parents and caregivers,

We had a wonderful celebration this afternoon because students reached their goal of earning 2500 PBIS tickets by following behaviour expectations in the hallways, playing outside, eating in the classrooms, and while in the bathroom. We still have to provide reminders for these areas as well so we invite you to continue to reinforce this at home.

We will have our Remembrance Day Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 9^th. This is not open to families. If your child participates in a program like cubs, guides, brownies, scouts, etc please feel free to have them wear their uniform that day. There is no school for students on Wednesday, Nov. 11 in observation of Remembrance Day.

Families of children starting Kindergarten in Sept 2027 are invited to a parent information session on Thursday, Nov. 12^th from 3:30pm – 4:00pm.

Please continue to send in donations of mittens, socks, and scarves for our Harvest House Service Project. Donations are accepted up to Friday, Nov. 13^th. Last year we had a very large donation and the staff at Harvest House were blown away by the generosity of the AHM community. We want to do our part to keep that support in place this year and we thank you in advance.

Parents of current Kindergarten students. Please join us on Thurs. Nov. 19^th at 6:30pm for a parent workshop called Growing in the Classroom. This event is offered by ASED School Social Workers and focuses on Understanding the Transition, healthy Routines, Parent-Child Attachment, and Community Resources. This will be a great time to connect with other Kindergarten parents/caregivers. Please see the attachment to register.

Photo retakes will take place on Tues. Nov. 24^th. Please see ordering details and retake details on your proofs that were sent home this week.

Student absence: Please remember to report all student absence, late arrivals, and early departures in School Messenger. Emailing the teacher about it is ok for communication purposes, but for attendance tracking please use School Messenger. You can register here –  SchoolMessenger

Please review lunch options with students to ensure they are aware of the selection. We are noticing a large amount of food wastage as students are voicing they would prefer a different selection than what was ordered. We want to be sure they are eating what they are receiving and going into the afternoon with full bellies.

Save the Date for a 19+ Trivia Night at Cheers Beverage Room on Sunday November 22 at 6pm. This is a fundraiser for our Fuel the fun Playground Campaign and it’s always a great event! More details on ordering tickets will come home shortly so keep your eye out for that.

Did you join us for the last Chocolate Bar Bingo? It was such a great night that we’re doing it again with a twist. Come in your PJs, eat some pizza and join us for a winter themed bingo on Nov. 27^th at 6:30pm. Order forms will be sent home soon.
