Message from the Principal
Welcome to Arnold H. McLeod School – A Place Where Every Student Matters!
Dear Arnold H. McLeod Families,
As we prepare to begin another exciting school year, I want to extend a warm welcome to all returning and new students and families. Arnold H. McLeod School is a vibrant K–5 learning community located in Moncton, where we are dedicated to fostering growth, inclusion, and success for every child.
With over 400 students, our school is a busy and welcoming place where academic achievement, social development, and student well-being are at the heart of everything we do. Guided by our Positive Learning and Working Environment Plan (PLWEP), we focus on creating a respectful and engaging environment using the values embedded in the 7 Sacred Teachings and our school-wide “LEARN” code:
L – Look, Listen, and Grow
E – Excited and Engaged
A – Accepting of Everyone
R – Respectful and Responsible
N – Never Give Up
These values are brought to life through storytelling, character education (like Persevering Penguin, Friendly Frog, and Grateful Gator), and rich cross-curricular experiences that connect with Indigenous history, Black History Month, and community kindness initiatives.
Our students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of learning and leadership opportunities—both in and out of the classroom. From our “Apples for the Apple Tree” celebration of learning, to our Learning Lab interventions, student leadership roles, and school-wide service projects, every child has a place to grow, contribute, and be recognized.
We are also grateful for the active involvement of our Home & School and Parent School Support Committee. Their support is key to the success of many of our initiatives and events.
At Arnold H. McLeod, we believe in open communication and strong partnerships with families. If you ever have questions, ideas, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out or stop by. Together, we can make this a year of connection, resilience, and joyful learning.
We look forward to a wonderful year ahead!
Yours in Education,
Sheila Johnston
Principal, Arnold H. McLeod School
